| Legislative Transparency Committee |
The Republican Women of Howard County have formed the Legislative Transparency Committee, which was established in order to follow the results of legislative actions and votes put forth by the public officials elected to office with the power of the vote.

"We the People" have always maintained that our public officials were sent to represent the constituency who placed them in office. While individuals in office have their own morals, values, and beliefs, which we respect them for, we would expect public officials to also respect the will of the people and not to enact legislation which would be considered contrary to the will of the people. The legislative transparency committee believes that we should maintain amicable relationships with members of the legislative body, including local, county, and statewide officials in order that we might be able to better communicate our desire for effective legislation which we believe to be in the public's best interest. We also desire to maintain a good, working relationship with our elected officials in the interest of transparency and accountability to the public and we will continue to keep our followers aware of the actions and votes being initiated or supported by our officials. We believe in keeping our members and followers well informed on important issues and actions, therefore, our committee members will periodically submit their findings in writing regarding our public officials services and actions affecting the community, the county, or the state of Maryland. We wish them all good luck in their new legislative season. If you wish to join this committee, please contact Laura Walsh, Committee Chair.
